New course details!

Ok, here’s the deal…

I’ve been working like an insane-person lately. My neighbors have seen this strange “glow” coming from the window of my upstairs studio (very late at night).

I’ve been practicing to get my chops up. And I’ve been doing a lot of “studying”…

As you know I like a stone’s throw away from the Mississippi Delta: the real home of the blues. You see, as blues guitar started to develeop, the players from the Delta (the flat, farming country in north Mississippi) came north to Memphis to showcase their music… right here on Beale street.

I grew up in Coldwater, MS which is way out in the stix. Just flat, hot farm country. And my family moved to Memphis when I was 10. So, I spent many-a-night prowling around Beale St. watching street-musicians and blues guitarists of all shape and sizes (including the blues-guitar-god, B.B. King).

Anyway, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about how I can help other guitarist take advantage of this incredible blues guitar heritage that I’ve been blessed with.

So, I decided to create a few blues guitar vidoes to give away to my friends (yeah, that would be you). :-)

I asked for feedback, and everyone has LOVED the lessons I’ve been sending out lately! Which is soooooo cool, because I luv, luv, LUV teaching this stuff, because it’s so close to my heart and my background… I guess you could say, “It’s in my blood”. Litterally.

Anyway, back to the course…

At this point I’m really not ready to release any more details. Because I’m still writing, researching the “great ones” and practicing.

I will tell you that I spent some time in a local studio making some blues recordings with some AMAZING musicians. It was great to collaborate with other folks… which is one of the things I enjoy most about music: you get to interact with other people! Cool.

OK, so that’s about it for now…

If you’re interested in learning blues guitar, you’ll definately want to keep your eyes on this website blog. I’m going to be posting information as it’s available and there will definately be stuff that I post here that will NOT be included in an email that I send.

I’m also very interested in your comments and questions. Please leave them here on the blog on the “comments” section at the bottom of this (and any other post). I will try to my best to answer your questions as I see them posted here.

Cheers!

Dan Denley

P.S. At the time I wrote this post, there was LESS than 12 hours (and counting) to get your copy of my buddy Tony Aja’s “Guitar-Leads” course at a hefty-discount. And remember if you decide to get all four volumes of his program (or if you already own a couple of them and decide to complete your set) you can get my “theory analysis” video tutorials as a special “bonus”. Just email me at “dan[at]amazingguitarsecrets.com” with the subject line, “I grabbed all four volumes of Tony’s course!” and I’ll email you a secret download link for the videos.

This is cool, we must think alike. I started to send you a note about doing just this kind of site some time ago. I love the way our flash player works and this is a great way to use it.

I have another friend who is doing something similar in another line of business. He has all his lessons listed as you do here, then he posts links to all his recomended affiliate programs (including the flash video program), sales pages, and links to recomended sites. This has become his primary site since then because so many people can contribute to the success of others. All his emails direct them to his blog first for the story then the story takes it from there and he has built up a very large following because of it.

Your a great teacher! Keep up the good work, I’ll be watching for sure. Thanks,

Toney

Hello Dan, I love your blues videos and am progressing. I know you want me to buy more CD,s from your friend, but I would prefer to stay strictly with your teaching. I want to play lead using the modes you taught me. There has to be a way to play along with simple songs i.e.Silent Night then progress into more difficult songs. Too much theory is mind boggling. So Dan I love your style. Keep up the good work Bernie

Is this course going to be like your first one with a Price and then for a higher price another set of “goodies”. That was the reason that I didn’t buy your 1st course. I had gone through all the screens then at the last one the ‘bait-and-switch’ was on. For a few dollars more you can be a SILVER member. For even more you can be a GOLD
member, etc, etc, etc. I wish that the 1st price you set is the ONLY price.
Until you fix that, I will probably not purchase anything from you.

Dear Dan: I enjoy the courses and the videos and the newsletters you’ve been sending out. I am a sucker for guitar made easy kind of stuff and I tend to buy it. For this reason, I am not sure that supporting Will and Andrew and others (Tony) is such a good thing. This is my first point. Things are out of hand. There is another person Will Landrum who you have recommended that is now releasing a new cd that he’s been working very hard on. Problem: I bought this cd two years ago- nothing new on it. I also agree with the first person about the one price fits the course. The other thing that is very bad is the buy now and get 2000 bonuses. If you are the first to buy- you can talk with me for an hour sort of stuff. If you offer bonuses- offer to everyone. Not all of us can afford to buy everything someone is selling especially when you guys network and are all selling something. This is really a sales gimmick that wears thin pretty fast.

Verry good

Dan - you are a good teacher and I liked your first course but I have to agree with Ralph & Dennis. You internet guitar guys have obviously formed a cabal. I get inundated with emails from just about all of them and if it is not their own stuff they always promote one of the others in the squad - Andrew, Tony, Kenny, Chris, Ben,etc. The usual suspects. Some are good and some are awful. I could honestly do a better job myself. “Bonuses” include things like Powertab Editor! Wow that has been freewhare for longer than I care to remember. We’re all getting just a bit tired of the hype and we feel like we’re being conned.
I do like the fact that you give us free snippets now and again but please treat us with some respect.

Can’t wait to get the course. Your first course has changed my guitar playing life…….! I’m an amazing guitar player advocate!

Hey folks,

First, thanks for your HONEST feedback! I really appreciate that. If there’s something that I’m doing that hacks you off, I want to know! Anyway, let me try to explain…

I’ve bought a LOT of “how to play” guitar stuff over the years. And you’re right. Some of it’s total crap. But before I recomend that you buy something, I ALWAYS check it out first. Sometimes I recomend something and give it “two thumbs up.” Other times I’ll say, “If you want to learn XYZ” then you should check this out… But, I try to give an honest opinion. And I certainly wouldn’t tell you to get something that I think is crap.

I will definately be more sensitive in the future with what I “stand behind.”

But the fact is… “I don’t know everything.” Not even close. So, if I find a resource that I feel like could help people (even a little bit) I feel almost obligated to let you know.

About the bonuses… what would you like to see in this new course? What would you really get value from? What do you NOT want to see?

And about Gold vs. Standard course… I am planning to have some sort of “gold” or “standard” package with Blues Guitar Secrets because I want people to have a choice. Don’t know the details yet, but will let you know.

About Will Landrum…. I know the dude. And I’ve watched him play. He is an INCREDIBLE guitarist (nice guy, too). But I have no control of his sale techniques (saying that his CD is “new” when it’s really re-packaged).

Here’s what I suggest you do. Pick up the phone and call Will. Tell him you bought his CD thinking it was “new” but it was actually the same one you already bought earlier. He will gladly give you a refund, I’m sure.

Please tell me what kind of bonuses you’d appreciate!

All the best,

Dan Denley

Dan - Thumbs up! I like your method of teaching and would like to learn more. I bought your first course and I am very happy with it. I bought a blues book recently and started to work through it. I was happy to read that you are working on a new blues course. Please include how to play an entire song. I am not a creative person and I need to be shown how to transition from this to that to build the song. I look forward to the release of your blues course. I agree with the others though. I too feel that I get way too many sales emails. Time limits, pressure sales, too good to be true stuff. One price inclusive. I don’t like all the extra email I get every day. I don’t read them at all, just ‘DELETE”. It has become more like spam. I know it is just business, but it really ticks off your customers ( students ). Now that I have vented, … All the best with the blues. You are doing a good job of teaching .

Hey Dan,
In case you didn’t know your great - of all the things I’ve purchased in my life you have definitely given me the most exchange for the dollar. Your my first real guitar teacher, and in the last year I owe much to your lessons and common sense approach. I’m looking forward to this Blue’s Course
